All of the unbeatens are favored big, but all five playing Saturday are on the road. The toughest challenge faces the Sooners, who are at rival Oklahoma State. USC could have trouble with the weather in Pullman, but Utah, Miami and Auburn should roll.
Virginia Tech and Boise State both beat the spread already. Boise State was awesome. After Hawaii score the first points on a first quarter field goal, the Broncos came back to score 69 straight! And Timmy Chang didn't quite break Ty Detmer's passing record. He'll have to wait a week. I hope the Hokies don't lose another game. I hope Arizona State loses for the final time this year, and California keeps on winning. But most importantly, I hope USC wins and covers.
The Saturday games involving AP-ranked teams, and my picks against the spread, are:
(1) USC at Wash St [+23.5] Pick USC minus.
(2) Oklahoma at (20) Okla St [+12.5] Pick Oklahoma State plus.
(3) Auburn at Mississippi [+15] Pick Auburn minus.
(4) Miami (FL) at UNC [+14.5] Pick Miami minus (please be wrong, please, please, please)
**(5) Florida St at Maryland [+9.5] Pick Maryland plus (maybe straight up.)
**(20) Arizona St at (7) California [-11.5] Pick California minus.
(8) Texas at Colorado [+11.5] Pick Texas minus.
(9) Utah at San Diego St [off] No pick. Utah will win, though.
**Florida at (10) Georgia [-7] Pick Georgia minus.
(11) Tennessee at S Carolina [+3] Pick Tennessee minus. Granny sucks.
Michigan St at (12) Michigan [-12.5] Pick Michigan minus. (changed my mind twice).
(15) W Virginia at Rutgers [+13] Pick West Virginia minus.
**(16) Texas A&M at Baylor [+20] Pick A&M minus. Baylor sucks.
**(17) Purdue at Northwestern [+8.5] Pick Northwestern plus.
Vanderbilt at (19) LSU [-20.5] Pick LSU minus.
(23) Iowa at Illinois [+13.5] Pick Iowa minus.
(24) Minnesota at Indiana [+15] Pick Minnesota minus.
My five favorite wagers are marked with asterisks. Add USC to the list if the field is dry.
Unranked Penn State plays unranked Ohio State. Those words don't seem to read right, do they?
Unranked UCLA hosts unranked Stanford. That sounds normal.
Unranked Notre Dame is idle. No chance at another "perfect day."
Does anyone out there know of a good site to look up the college football odds, sorted by ranking?
How about "collegefootballgamblingodds.com"
