Catching up and mixing in some more recent releases and a classic old one. Here are another ten recent pulls from the Netflix queue. I'll rate them with pluses, one to five. The scores in parens are from IMDB, with 10.0 being perfect. My rankings, obviously, do not match perfectly with IMDB's.
- The Shawshank Redemption (9.2) +++++ 1994 Classic. Should have won Oscars.
- The Darjeeling Limited (7.4) ++++ Three crazy brothers + Bill Murray cameo. What's not to love?
- Unfaithful (6.5) +++ I'm getting old, because Diane Lane is looking hot.
- Billy Elliot (7.6) +++ Cute. Touching. And he's not a poof.
- Sydney White (6.3) +++ I liked Snow White better, but my girls watched this more times.
- War of the Worlds (6.6) +++ Lots of action. Not a lot of great actin'. No great endin'.
- The Family Stone (6.3) ++ Not what I expected, but at least it was watchable.
- A History of Violence (7.6) ++ It was not my cup of tea.
- An American in Paris (7.3) ++ This is a classic that just doesn't speak to me after all the years.
- Pan's Labyrinth (8.5) ++ Too violent, convoluted. Critics loved it. I didn't.
The Shawshank Redemption is one of the best movies of all time. How it didn't win Best Picture is a total mystery to me.

First of all, I totally agree about Shawshank Redemption. Fabulous movie!
And I watched a History of Violence the other day, and it really sucked. Like totally!
