Today reminds me of the day I went to my first USC game. My buddy called me up in the morning and offered me his extra ticket to the 1984 USC game against Notre Dame. Having no plans for the day, I accepted and got up to dress. There was no internet then, I didn't subscribe to the newspaper, and I hadn't checked the weather forecast on the news the night before. So to check the weather, I simply looked out my window. Skies were clear and the air was warm and looked like it was getting warmer. I put on shorts and a t-shirt and headed out the door to my buddy's house.
By the time we got to the Coliseum, the skies were dark and a cold wind was blowing in from the west. Soon, we were got soaked andf shivering in the rain. My souvenir program got drenched, and made a poor umbrella. USC had six turnovers that day. Five of those were center snaps botched in the mud.
I hope tonight is better.
