LSU came out on top at Alabama, so there are now five unbeaten teams after ten weeks of college football, and all five could end up unbeaten. Here are the five and their remaining games:
- LSU - Western Kentucky, @ Ole Miss, Arkansas (and possible SEC championship)
- Oklahoma State - @ Texas Tech, @ Iowa State, Oklahoma
- Stanford - Oregon, Cal, Notre Dame (and possible Pac-12 championship)
- Boise State - TCU, @ San Diego State, Wyoming, New Mexico
- Houston - @ Tulane, Southern Methodist, @ Tulsa
LSU's final road game at Ole Miss could be a trap game, with the Tigers looking ahead to Arkansas and the SEC East champ. Oklahoma State travels next week to bipolar Texas Tech, but its biggest challenge by far will be its last home game of the season, against rival Oklahoma. Stanford finishes with all home games, but they include a de facto Pac-12 North title game against Oregon, the Big Game against rival Cal, and then Notre Dame. If they win the Oregon game, they will play Arizona State or UCLA for the Pac-12 title. Boise State's only tough game will be TCU, but it's at home, where the Broncos almost never lose. Houston has two slight challenges at the end of the season - SMU and a road trip to Tulsa.
I think we will end up with four undefeated teams. What would amuse me the most, however, would be to see Arkansas beat LSU, Oregon beat Stanford and Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State. Then you will see a whole bunch of pissing and moaning about who gets into the BCS title game. Arkansas - Boise State, anyone?
