Florida Atlantic got its first win of the season. This means Tulane now has the nation's longest losing streak. It also drops Akron to the "top" of the rankings. Akron's season was so bad, they fired their coach over the phone, even though the guy was on his way to bury his mother. Indiana comes in at second, the only AQ conference team to go winless against the FBS. Amazingly, 6 of these teams still have action left, and three of them are going to get clobbered like a Bruin at the Coliseum. We now have three 11-game losers. Here's how I see 'em this week:
- Akron (1-11) [2] Beat only VMI. Final loss: Done
- Indiana (1-11) [3] Beat only S.C. St. Worst AQ conference team. Final loss: Done
- UNLV (2-9)* [4] Losses include New Mexico and S. Utah. Final loss: @ TCU
- New Mexico (1-10)* [5] "Below" UNLV because of head-to-head. Final loss: @ Boise St.
- Florida Atlantic (1-10) [1] Now owns FBS's 54th longest winning streak. Final loss: La-Monroe
- Tulane (2-11) [8] Ten-game losing streak is nation's longest. Final loss: Done
- Middle Tennessee St. (2-9) [6] 0-9 when scoring less than 38 points. Final loss: @ N. Texas
- Idaho (2-9) [7] Only wins were San Jose and North Dakota. Final loss: @ Nevada
- Kansas (2-10) [NR] Only team to go perfect 0-9 in conference. Final loss: Done
- UCLA (6-6) [NR] Pac-12 South Division Champs lost 50-0 to USC. Final loss: Dignity.
Dropped up and out: Minnesota* [10] beat Illinois, Colorado [9] beat Utah,
Not far ahead: Maryland (2-10), Memphis (2-10), Ole Miss (2-10), Troy (3-8)
This week's crummy Game of the Weak: Lousiana-Monroe @ Florida Atlantic
This week's Blowouts of the Weak: New Mexico @ Boise State, UNLV @ TCU, UCLA @ Oregon
Dishonorable Mention: Western Kentucky*, Oregon St.*, Minnesota*
* lost to FCS team(s)
